Boston Fire Department
The Boston Fire Department (BFD) provides fire protection services for Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
In addition to fire protection, the Boston Fire department also
provides basic emergency medical services and respond to a variety of
emergencies such as, but not limited to, motor vehicle accidents,
hazardous material spills, electrical hazards, floods, and construction
accidents. The department serves approximately 620,000 people in a
47-square-mile area of the city proper and additional mutual aid to 32 surrounding communities of the Greater Boston Metro Area including Logan International Airport.
